Tattoo FAQ:
1) Does it hurt?
| |
Yes it hurts, and as pain
is subjective from person to person it is hard
to judge how painful a tattoo will be for you.
Also, the longer you sit the more painful it
gets. While a small 10- 20 minute tattoo is
usually easy to take, sitting for hours at a
time may be, for some, intolerable. Imagine a
cat lightly scratching you over and over. At
first it may only be annoying, but eventually it
becomes tough to take. |
2) May I go
swimming?
| |
Submersing your new tattoo
in water and/or with chlorine are the single
worst things you can do. Allow a minimum of
three weeks before swimming. |
3) May I
Tan?
| |
Any UV rays on your
tattoo will, effectively, shorten the lifespan
of your tattoo. Always slather your tattoo with
the highest SPF you can find.
|
4) Are there
better areas to tattoo than others?
| |
Yes. Hands and feet are
the worst places to tattoo. Ink does not stay as
well in these areas. Fleshy areas over muscle
are the best places to get tattoos.
|
5) Can I cover up my old
tattoo?
| |
It depends. How light is
it? How small is it? Usually, a new tattoo over
an old one will have to be darker and take up
sufficient space to draw attention away from an
old tattoo. Come in for a free consultation. |
6) How long
does it take to heal?
| |
For most tattoos, about
4-6 weeks to be completely healed.
|
7) Do I have
to choose something off the wall (flash)?
| |
Not at Tribal Rites. In
fact, we prefer doing custom work. |
8) How old
to I have to be to get a tattoo at Tribal Rites?
| |
Tribal
Rites requires you to be 18 years of age or
older. If you are a minor we will do certain
tattoos at our discretion and only with a parent
or legal guardian present. Please bring picture
ID’s that have matching last names or addresses.
